Success!

After a good three hours, I have finally finished revamping the blog. I deleted my 200+ categories, cut them down to 40, and added in 250 tags (which were almost identical to the old categories…), so the blog should look a lot more organized now. :]

New Year Resolutions (and SAT results!)

with 3 comments

(Yes, I know this is a little late, but whatever. At least I’m actually doing it!)

In this new year, I plan to…

Be more truthful to my feelings

Give more attention to others

Be more studious and procrastinate less

Be more understanding to other’s feelings and situations

Be of more help around the house

Be less paranoid

Appreciate my friends and family more

Be less of a burden to those I work with

Be less violent (okay, maybe there’s one I won’t be able to keep >.>)

And on my first SAT, I got a 1950. I was hoping something about 50+ points higher, but I guess I did pretty well for my first one :]

01/2009   SAT Reasoning Test
  Critical Reading ___________________640____88%
  Math____________________________660____ 88%
  Writing__________________________650____90%
  Multiple Choice_____________66 (score range: 20-80)
  Essay_______________________8 (score range: 2-12)

I really need to work on critical reading and math. Must get an 800 in math! >:O

Hey 2009~!

without comments

It’s finally the new year. And you know what? It still feels like 2008. I guess it’s like one of those birthday things where you don’t feel any different until you look back really, really far into the past. I’m actually really looking forward to the new year. I have lots of New Year Resolutions (that I actually plan on keeping) and lots of exciting trips and tests (SAT! AP!) to look forward to. More in my next post. :]

Quick post before I have to hand this computer over to my cousins. :]

- The guy that sat next to me on the plane trip over here is studying Physics at Caltech. :O He came to Vancouver for summer school and he looked like someone from Beauty and the Geek. How fun. :] and he totally saved me from my exploding pen by giving me paper to wipe the ink off my fingers. He was looking at equations the whole plane trip, so I couldn’t tell him my nerdy pick-up lines (ftw!) :[

- Dood, no internet </3

- My uncle’s plane couldn’t take off, so he got stuck in Vancouver for another day. Haha.

- After I got off the plane, I couldn’t hear anything for the longest time. :[

- WW3 dream where Russia exploded into confetti, XDD

- My cousins think I’m dating Dominic because I talk to him online (little kids and the way they take things! <3)

Everything about me in four letters

with 4 comments

I’m not kidding. These four letters will tell you everything about my personality: INTJ

Last night (or early this morning), I finished Forensic Heroes II and so decided to look for more dramas to watch. I was browsing through Kamenashi Kazuya’s wikipedia page and saw something about a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). Needless to say, I got curious. I searched it up and got a link to a test. I took it and got INTJ. Surprisingly, it is very accurate. Here is some facts about INTJ people! (I pretty much just copied, pasted, and rewrote a bit to make it flow better. Don’t kill me please.)

  • INTJ is commonly referred to as “the scientist”. (Notice my screenname?)
  • INTJ’s are perfectionists and disregard authority. (…)
  • Personal relationships, especially romantic ones, can be the INTJ’s weak point. This is because many INTJ’s do not understand social rituals. The most fundamental problem is that INTJ’s really want people to make sense. (People who know me will know this is so correct. Relationships and all the crap don’t make sense to me. It’s like speaking to me in Spanisch. People, their actions, and their thoughts confuse me the most though.)
  • INTJ’s are more comfortable working alone than with other people. (I HATE working with other people, unless it’s someone I know well, and that person is capable of doing shoulder-to-shoulder work with me.)
  • INTJ’s are not usually as sociable as others, although they are prepared to take the lead if nobody else is up to the task, or they see a major weakness in the current leadership. They are natural, but not eager, leaders, only stepping forward when it becomes obvious to them that they are the best for the job. (Band. ;})
  • INTJ’s make decisions quickly as they tend to make all the decisions. Though they are decisive, they are always open-minded to new evidence and new ideas, flexible in their planning to accommodate changing situations. They are excellent at judging the usefulness of ideas and will apply whatever seems most efficient to them in accomplishing their clearly envisioned goals. They work best when given large amounts of autonomy and creative freedom. They harbor an innate desire to express themselves; that is to be creative by conceptualizing their own intellectual designs. (Bio class, XD. I’m such an authoritarian D: No one ever gets a say in what our group does except me (unless I’m looking for their opinions on something).)
  • INTJ’s do not recognize authority based on tradition, rank, or title. (It’s all about ability!)
  • INTJ’s tend to be very pragmatic and logical individuals, often with an individualistic bent and a low tolerance for spin or rampant emotionalism. (XD)
  • INTJ’s are not susceptible to catchphrases. (They make me laugh)
  • To INTJs, what matters is getting it done – but ALSO learning the principles of how to get it done efficiently and well, as on a “professional” quality level – and they have a tendency to give little thought to personal cost in getting there. (So true, so true…)
  • INTJ’s are usually difficult to get to know well, and difficult to get close to. Those who are close to the INTJ will highly value them for their ideas and knowledge. (hahaha – I laughed at this one.)
  • Many INTJs believe that they are always right. ( Yue Bing! -_________-;; )
  • Some people may have a difficult time accepting what they see as a “superior attitude” or “snobbery”. Not to imply that INTJ’s are snobbish, just that some people with strong Feeling preferences may perceive them that way. (This reminds me of what Tuan-Ahn said about me.)
  • INTJ’s natural partner is the ENFP, or the ENTP. (ENFP = Michelle! XD)

(off-topic) That reminds me! Maou is out already on Veoh.com. No subs, but STORMY should have it out in two days. The group is very efficient and reliable. I’m looking forward to their hard work.

Don’t you just hate it…

with one comment

When you think you know what you’re thinking, but in fact, there might be something hiding deep in your unconscious mind that you don’t know about? I hate it. It’s times like those that I feel like I don’t know myself and I feel that I’m trying to hide something from myself without knowing it. To put it simply, I had two interesting and enlightening conversations last night. They made me really confused – but I’m glad I had those conversations. They gave me a lot to think about.

And something to add. Don’t you get so confused when your body does something that you had no intention on doing? That it just happens, and you’re left wondering what caused it to happen? I’m so confused right now and I feel like a lot of my nerves are in shreds. It’s so troublesome to be human – to have human emotions and to be able to think so complexly. Wouldn’t it be better if we were all just single celled organisms, working for our survival and not having to think about anything else but just that?

Mr. Haygood…

without comments

is totally sexist and mean.

I swear, he is the most annoying teacher I have ever met. About every 30 minutes, he likes to mention how girls don’t know how to drive. Generally, it’s true, but seriously, it annoys me. I hate it when teachers just make generalizations like that.

Oh, then there’s another problem with my name. Like with all the teachers that don’t know me, he has been calling me Yolanda for the past 5 days and even has that on his grading sheet. When I told him that my name was spelled with a “t”, he got all pissed off and said in this really annoyed tone, “Is that so?”. So yeah, I don’t like him. I wish I had taken art instead of stupid driver’s ed. It really is boring in there, and I don’t learn anything, which makes me even more mad than I am now.

Oh, and I’m thinking about starting a post question every time I post something. It’s meant to make people reply, because I like getting replies and it’s fun to post random questions. Okay! First question: Why the heck would an eighteen-year old boy steal $17.50 from two children’s lemonade stand? (Go Yahoo! the story if you don’t know about it already. It really is funny and sad at the same time)

Books

without comments

I jut realized how badly I need another bookshelf. The whole bottom row is filled with folders with my past schoolwork (6th grade onward) and the rest is just any other books and random things I could fit in there. The whole thing is so packed, I had to turn my smaller books sideways so I could make more room. Now I can’t find any books to read. -___________- I’m planning on starting and finishing Jane Eyre this week, if Maplestory permitting. ;D I swear, once I go on Maplestory, I don’t log off unless I need to go eat or sleep – which is just about never. By the way, I’m level 39 already! I outleveled Brandon very badly and I’m just about passing Belle. I logged off two hours early today to let them pass me though. I’m looking forward to Barnes & Nobles tommorrow as well as Viva La Vida!

Oh, now I remember why I was writing a wordpress post. 2B and 3B pencils. Brandon, Brian, Morgen, and Hiro needed them, and I only had two 3B pencils. Brian and Morgen got them, and Brandon couldn’t find one. Poor Brandon. DD: I’ll let you borrow my 6B, H, or B pencil. :D D

Scared of hugs?

without comments

Ah! I just rememberd something funny that happened Friday. So it was brunch, and Davy just went up to me, put out his arms and said, “Hug”. In response, I said, “No thank you”. He just left and Albert started laughing at me and couldn’t stop. So that brings me to my point. Am I afraid of hugs? Maybe some of you guys have noticed, but I rarely give anyone hugs. Even to people I’ve known for the longest time like Melissa and Michelle. If I do give people hugs, it’s always so awkward, XD Well, I don’t know, just a random thought.

Balrog!!

with one comment

THAT’S RIGHT. LEVEL 28 in two weeks. I beat Brandeezy! yay!

Besides that, I killed a Balrog with Belle today in Deep Ant Tunnel. Okay, not really. It was just one of those fake ones, like king slime in hunting ground, for the 3rd Anniversary. When we ran into it, Belle and I totally freaked because we thought it was a real one, and it was hurling fireballs at us, but then we realized that it wasn’t real and then we just killed it (more like, I just watched.. but we were partied. :]). We didn’t see how much exp we got for it though. What a shame. I want to see another one so I can take a screenshot and be like, “SEE. LOOK HOW COOL I AM. I KILLED A ROG, LAWLZ”.
